“If a flower can flourish in the desert,
you can flourish anywhere.”
Matshona Dhliwayo
A friend asked me recently:
“What do you do, exactly?”
I, of course, got ready to list my professional labels: Psychologist, Hypno-analyst, Psychotherapist, BWRT practioner and so on. But I realized suddenly that’s not what I do at all, but rather what my degrees and certificates identify as my qualifications.
“What I do, I replied, is help people whose lives seem to have derailed a little, or a lot, to get back on track and move forward stronger than before, providing the relevant tools to also help them stay on track in the future. Of course, my credentials and relevant memberships matter so that you know that I’m qualified to do what I do and that I keep up to date with current research and thinking, but what I DO is support someone else’s transition to strength.”
If that sounds like something you would like to explore, please get in touch for a chat.
